Tabaranza's Walking at Manila BayThanksgiving is not an official holiday of the Philippines, however, western people has a lot of influence in our family. We are brought up by a private american-owned ministry in Parañaque City.  I am currently in the United States when this event happened. One late night, for some reason, I can’t sleep. Usually, this time around I am snoring loud like an engine but this night was different. I messaged my sister  Jasmine on Facebook and asked how are they doing back home (I really miss home a lot). Anyways, Jasmine gave me updates on how they are doing and what are the things that they need at home. If I’m not mistaken, it’s almost the end of the month so they probably welcomed everybody’s infamous visitor—BILLS.

After discussing about the bills and other stuff, I mentioned to Jasmine that I want to do a feeding program for the street children, from the place where we all come from. I will write a different blog about it so make sure you’ll subscribe to know when it is posted. Going back, I told Jasmine since Thanksgiving is near and we have a lot to be thankful for, we should bless others too. We are not rich like Henry Sy or some billionaireswe don’t have a car, we don’t even have a house, we are just renting but I believe that is not the main requirement in blessing others so we pushed through it. Our original plan, for less preparations, is to bring a certain number of children to Jollibee and give them a Jolly Kiddie Meal. That plan changed when my mother (Mothers Know Best) decided to cook for the kids instead.

Our budget is Php 5000, and we were able to provide 30 pack of food and 10 goodies for families with babies.

  1. 30 Pack of Food
    • Rice
    • Egg
    • Hamonado
    • Juice
  2. 10 Goodies (Groceries)
    • Luncheon Meat
    • Sardines
    • Lomi
    • Bihon
    • Biscuits
    • Milk

I know my family back home had worked really hard to prepare and distribute the food and goodies. They started from Aristocrat Malate Manila, which is in front of Manila Bay going to Cultural Center of the Philippines. They had fun distributing the food to the kids, and the goodies to the families who has babies. Below are some photos that they had taken from the feeding program.

I will have Jasmine to write updates about this.

Thank you for reading my first update on Street Kids Manila. Make sure to subscribe for more updates.

Disclaimer: My niece is on the photo too. I believe it’s her first time to do an outreach like this.
